Celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 30^th October, 2022

To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which falls on 31^st October every year, officers and other officials from the Embassy of India and the Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre in Mexico celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 30^th October 2022

2. ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge’ or ‘Pledge for Unity’ was administered by the Ambassador to all the Embassy officers and officials. This was followed by a symbolic ‘Walk for Unity’ from the Embassy premises to Parque Lincoln carrying the message of Sardar Patel. As part of the programme, floral tributes were paid to Sardar Patel followed by a picture exhibition by the Gurudev Tagore Indian Cultural Centre displaying various historic events from the life of Sardar Patel. Members of Indian diaspora and Mexican friends also participated in the event. Together, they recalled the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, not only in India’s freedom struggle, but also in unifying the country into a strong single entity.
